MASALA SOOJI BALLS:

Ingredients:

For sooji mixture:

  1. Sooji / rawa 1 cup
  2. Water 2 cups
  3. Salt as needed
  4. Grated ginger 1 tbsp
  5. Chopped green chillies 2 nos
  6. Oil 2 tbsp

For Tempering:

  1. Oil 3 tbsp
  2. Mustard seeds 1 tbsp
  3. Cumin seeds 1 tbsp
  4. Cashews handful
  5. Bunch of curry leaves
  6. Channa dal 1 tbsp
  7. Urad dal 1 tbsp
  8. Hing a pinch
  9. Turmeric a pinch
  10. Red chilli 1 tbsp

 

Method:

  1. Heat oil in a pan, add grated ginger and chopped chillies and fry for 1 min. now add water and salt and have a boil, now add sooji and mix till all the water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  2. Now make some small balls out of the sooji mixture and keep aside.
  3. Heat oil in another pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and let it crackle, now add rest of the ingredients mentioned for tempering and fry for 1 min. Now add the sooji balls and fry for 5 mins.
  4. Remove and serve hot.
