MUSHROOM MANCHURIAN :

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Button Mushrooms 500 gms (cut into halves)
  2. Onions 2 nos (bit bigger size)
  3. Chopped Capsicum 250 gms (bit bigger size)
  4. Chopped Carrots 2 nos (bit bigger size)
  5. Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp
  6. Green chillies slit 2 nos
  7. Black pepper powder
  8. Salt as per taste
  9. Soya sauce 2 tbsp
  10. Tomato sauce 4 tbsp
  11. Chilli sauce 2 tbsp
  12. Vinegar 1 tsp
  13. Cornflour mixed with water (2:2 ratio)
  14. Water for gravy 3 cups or more as required
  15. Oil for cooking

METHOD:

Using Normal Deep frying Method:

  1. First mix cornflour, salt in mushrooms, slight water and mix well. Deep fry mushrooms in oil. Remove and keep aside.
  2. Now in a kadai warm oil, add ginger garlic paste , green chillies and fry for 3 mins till raw smell goes away, now add chopped vegetables and saute for 5 mins.
  3. Now add salt, pinch of sugar, black pepper powder, tomato sauce, vinegar, chilli sauce and soya sauce and fry for more 2 mins.
  4. Now add cornflour mixture and water and cook till the gravy thickens.
  5. Remove and serve hot with noodles/rice/paratha.

Using Less oil Method (healthier version) :

  1. Heat 2 tbsp oil and add ginger garlic paste , green chillies and saute it for 3 mins, now add all chopped vegetables with mushrooms, salt, pinch of sugar and cook till the vegetables are ¾ cooked.
  2. Now add tomato sauce, soya sauce, vinegar, black pepper powder, chilli sauce and fry for another 2 mins.
  3. Now add cornflour mixture and water and cook till gravy thickens.
  4. Remove and serve hot with noodles/ rice / paratha.
