PRAWN DALMA

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Fried small prawns 200gms
  2. Mixed chopped vegetables (potatoes, pumpkin, carrot, parwal, brinjal (1/2 cup each))
  3. Masoor/ Arhar dal 1 cup
  4. Chopped onion 1 no.
  5. Chopped tomato 1 no.
  6. Roasted and powdered jerra and dry red chillied 2 tbsp
  7. Coriander powder 1/2 tbsp
  8. black pepper powder 1/2 tbsp
  9. Hing a pinch
  10. Bayleaf 1 no.
  11. Grated ginger 1/2 inch
  12. Crushed garlic cloves 4 nos.
  13. Salt and turmeric per taste
  14. Oil for cooking
  15. Five spices/ panch phoran
  16. Dry red chillies 20 nos.
  17. Curry leaves

METHOD:

  1. Pressure cook vegetables, dal adding salt, turmeric, grated ginger, crushed cloves, bay leaf and water.
  2. After one or two whistle let pressure be released.
  3. Now in a kadai heat oil, add panch phoran and let it splutter , then add chopped onions and let it change translucent, then add dry red chillies, curry leaves, tomatoes, and all dry masalas and roast till tomatoes softens .
  4. Now pour the boiled dal with vegetables onto it, add cooked prawns and mix well.
  5. Cook for more 6-7 mins and remove and serve hot with rice.prawn dalma and chilli soya paneer
