PRAWN DALMA
INGREDIENTS:
- Fried small prawns 200gms
- Mixed chopped vegetables (potatoes, pumpkin, carrot, parwal, brinjal (1/2 cup each))
- Masoor/ Arhar dal 1 cup
- Chopped onion 1 no.
- Chopped tomato 1 no.
- Roasted and powdered jerra and dry red chillied 2 tbsp
- Coriander powder 1/2 tbsp
- black pepper powder 1/2 tbsp
- Hing a pinch
- Bayleaf 1 no.
- Grated ginger 1/2 inch
- Crushed garlic cloves 4 nos.
- Salt and turmeric per taste
- Oil for cooking
- Five spices/ panch phoran
- Dry red chillies 20 nos.
- Curry leaves
METHOD:
- Pressure cook vegetables, dal adding salt, turmeric, grated ginger, crushed cloves, bay leaf and water.
- After one or two whistle let pressure be released.
- Now in a kadai heat oil, add panch phoran and let it splutter , then add chopped onions and let it change translucent, then add dry red chillies, curry leaves, tomatoes, and all dry masalas and roast till tomatoes softens .
- Now pour the boiled dal with vegetables onto it, add cooked prawns and mix well.
- Cook for more 6-7 mins and remove and serve hot with rice.
